Did Alan produce many pieces in his time away from Poole Pottery? I know he was at Dartington for a while, but he was going to set up a Studio just for himself ;D

Hi, He did have his own studio for a short time when Dartington went bust but he wasn't suited to it and soon returned to Poole Pottery. I bought a couple of small vases with the Sunburst design on them, they should be quite rare considering the limited duration of Alan's company.

ahhh, interesting ;D Yeah, I have got a couple of pieces from around his time at Dartington, Didn't realise they went bust? The websites still up I guess its good that Alan is back at Poole, but It would have been interesting to see what sort of direction he would have gone in design wise if he was out on his own. Welcome to the forum ;D

Welcome to the forum ;D Yes, the potters have moved to Grayshott pottery. I have a couple of vases in the Dartington colours and marked Grayshott, the seller informed me of the move. It is a great shame about Dart pottery though, another graet pottery gone
